The Question We've All Been Axeing Ourselves

I'm sure you've guessed from the title what this post is going to be about, and you've guessed correctly: A top ten list of my favorite Star Trek fanfictions! No, seriously though, it's about axes. Source:http://www.medieval-life-and-times.info/medieval-weapons/battle-axe.htm Axes were used primarily by foot soldiers and vikings, although knights did occasionally pick them up. Their sizes varied heavily, with the shortest being about one foot in length, and the longest being five. They struck with astounding force, even being capable of wounding knights in full armor. Of course, blunt force trauma wasn't what it was intended to be used for. This weapon is designed for cutting. In that way, it's a little bit like across between a mace and a sword, except the mace was better at blunt force and movie heroes never use axes. Now, you've heard a little about this weapon and I'm sure you aren't wondering why most knights didn't use this monstrosity. The weapons people wielded were usually determined by your status in society. Knights were up there in status and axes were, again, primarily used by foot soldiers, so most of them didn't use it.
